Momentum
Codex is OpenAI's AI coding agent, available as Open-Source CLI, Cloud-Web version (ChatGPT integration), Desktop app (macOS/Windows), and IDE extension. It currently uses the GPT-5.6 model family (including Sol, Terra, Luna) as well as older GPT-5 Codex variants and supports local/custom models via the OpenAI Responses API or MCP Server integration. Usage is available either through ChatGPT subscription plans (Free to Enterprise) with a credit system or directly via API Key with Token-based billing; the CLI itself is open source under the Apache-2.0 license.
