Seedream is a text-to-image and image editing model family developed by ByteDance's Seed team. The latest widely documented major version, Seedream 4.0, combines text-to-image generation and general image editing in a unified architecture and achieves resolutions up to 4K. Subsequent versions (Seedream 4.5, released December 2025, and Seedream 5.0 Pro/Lite, released July 2026) further improve multi-image consistency, text rendering, and editing precision. Access is available through ByteDance's own platforms (Volcano Engine/BytePlus) as well as numerous third-party APIs.
