Kilo Code is an open-source AI coding agent (MIT license) available as a VS Code extension, JetBrains plugin, and CLI tool. Launched in March 2025 as a fork of Roo Code (itself a fork of Cline), it supports 500+ AI models from 60+ providers at zero markup. Core features include agentic multi-file code generation, inline autocomplete, parallel sub-agents, an orchestrator mode, browser control, and automated code reviews. The extension and CLI are free; costs arise only from AI model token usage.
